Very stoked how this one turned out, look and sound wise! Happy to present this new 2- 6x9 (16 ohms) one of a kind and one off guitar speaker cabinet handmade / created by the rotary connection (myself). I call this one the crab. Made from high quality vintage solid maple hardwood. Featuring 2 great sounding vintage Quam 6x9 speakers. These sound articulate, full, chimey, clear and bright but also have a good mid and bass and can get that mid-sixties bite and growl when pushed a bit. 6x9’s were used in many vintage 50’s legendary guitar amps by brands like Valco, Gretsch, National, Supto and others. I love the sound of guitar 6x9 speakers personally and think they should be used in more applications. Cab rated around 40-50 watts at 16 ohms. Perfect to run with your favorite tube head up to around 20-25 watts from the 16 ohm tap. Or as an extension cab with another 16 ohm cab/load for an 8 ohm total load. Use as a closed back cab or open depending on tone preference. Put the jack in the side so the back panel can easily come off (4 screws) or stay in depending on the tone you wish. It’s very form fit as well so you can leave it in place without screws (while recording perhaps) to easily switch back and forth between a open or closed back cab. I originally made it just closed with the jack in back but after messing with it more, I totally loved the open back sound too and wanted to change it to have the easy options. So I put the jack in the side (see pics) and used this cool vintage gold arrow type metal piece as an ornament to cover the og jack spot. I put one on the front left hand corner to match and to add as a little ornamental logo type piece as well. Use with legs or take legs off to stack. Would be a perfect living room cab that would fit right in and double as a ripping side table. The one side can even double to hold sheet music, cords, tuner, picks, strings… etc. Has one blemish mark on top (see pics) from past life but other wise great shape and beautiful wood. Heavy duty switchcraft jack. Built/repurposed from a cool 60’s colonial style vintage maple side table. Real plywood baffles. Unique vintage grill cloth sourced in the wild. Only one in existence and won’t be another ever again! Really great tone on this maple cab and I hate to have to let her go…. but gotta make room. Any questions feel free to message. Thanks!
