The Gibson ES-150DC (produced between 1969 and 1975) is a unique double-cutaway hollowbody. It features the sleek ES-335 body shape, but retains a deeper hollow construction (similar to the ES-175) to deliver a warm, woody acoustic tone, paired with a master volume control on the upper treble bout.
- Body Type: Fully hollow, double-cutaway maple body (2 11/16" deep at the rim)
- Scale Length: 24.75"
- Neck Material: Mahogany or Maple (depending on the specific production year)
- Neck Profile: Slim '70s C
- Fingerboard: Rosewood with a 12" radius and small block inlays
- Nut Width: 1 9/16"
- Pickups: Dual Gibson Patent Number humbuckers (often T-Tops)
- Controls: 2 × Volume, 2 × Tone, 3-way toggle switch, and a master volume control on the upper cutaway
- Hardware: Chrome or Nickel, with Gibson Deluxe Double Line tuners
- Finishes: Walnut, Natural, and a rare Cherry
Extremely clean example!! Can't see the pot codes without dropping the harness, but it's the early version with Mahogany neck and no volute. Shows some finish checking at the neck joint but all is solid - no breaks, repairs, or other shenanigans. Pickups read 8.25k at the bridge and 8.18k at the neck. Neck measures 1.57" wide at the nut. Weighs 6.6 pounds and ships in OHSC shown.
