Every time I turn this on I make music with it (which is not something I can say of my other hardware). It's an incredible device: Studio grade synths (with decent presets!) including FM and subtraction, drum sampler with easy chopping/ slicing, multi-sampler so you can easily sample your hard/soft synths and accoustic instruments and viola, now your have them wherever you go (I have multi sampled a bunch of Toraiaz AS1 -single voice of Prophet analog synth, sounds amazing). I have also purchased a number of expansion packs that I will leave on. Then you have effects and fantastic, master compressor that produces pro sounding results. It can also control your other gear as a midi hub. And all of this controlled by its INCREDIBLE sequencer! That's the heart of the OP-XY, lightning fast and a child could operate it, it just ushers you into making music the second it's turned on (it boots up in literally a second!) Battery life is unrivalled. Easily arrange patterns into scenes and launch, clip style, in whatever order you wish to make your song. Each track has 16 patterns and you can change instruments and settings per pattern!!

People balk at the price are missing the point. It truly is a studio in your hands that is actually fun and easy to not just use, but get great results from. You'd need to splice together a Digitakt, Digitone, MPC, Polyend, Ableton...all in a unified UI that is instantly accessible. It's pure genius and I'm gutted to sell, but needs must.
