I am offering a Gibson Hummingbird Pro EC from 2014, a crafted in Bozeman, Montana (USA), all solid-wood acoustic guitar featuring the legendary Square Shoulder Dreadnought design, including a Venetian cutaway, resonant Sitka spruce top, warm-sounding back and sides made of mahogany, set mahogany neck with Round 60s Thinline neck profile and 42.9mm bone nut, bound rosewood fingerboard with shimmering mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, high-quality Grover Rotomatic tuners, and Gibson Fishman Prefix Plus T pickup system, finished in a beautifully graded Vintage Sunburst high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with Custom Line Tortoise pickguard and multi-ply cream binding in excellent condition, complete with black Gibson deluxe hardshell case, manufacturer’s paperwork, and professional setup with 12-53 Elixir 80/20 strings.
The Gibson Hummingbird is considered an absolute classic and was first introduced in 1960. As a short-scale square-shoulder dreadnought with its dynamic range and high volume—featuring singing, warm mids and powerful bass—it continues to inspire musicians around the world to this day.
This 2014 Gibson Hummingbird Pro model featured here carries on the legacy of this iconic guitar, but—designed as a workhorse for professional musicians—it forgoes visual embellishments such as an ornate pickguard, focusing instead on its inner qualities.
Like the original from the 1960s, this Hummingbird Pro features a solid mahogany back and sides, as well as a solid Sitka spruce top, which—thanks to Gibson’s 1930s Advanced X-Bracing—is given ample space to resonate. The bound rosewood fingerboard is adorned with intricate parallelogram-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, and the set mahogany neck features a comfortable, slim “Round 60s Thinline” neck profile.
The fantastic woods and high-quality craftsmanship of the Gibson Bozeman workshop produce a wonderfully warm and exceptionally powerful sound, in which the mids and lively bass tones are particularly well-defined. The square-shoulder body also ensures beautiful projection and a balanced, warm tone with a subtle yet dynamic range of timbres—ideal for any type of accompaniment, strumming, and picking!
A sound sample of this model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
In addition, the guitar comes factory-equipped with a high-quality Gibson Fishman Prefix Plus T pickup system with a built-in tuner, delivering a clear, authentic acoustic sound that really shines in live performances.
Truly a wonderful guitar that—typical of Gibson Montana—combines an outstanding balance of sound, playability, and aesthetics.
