Do you find yourself in a dilemma like this: "I admire vintage guitars, but I'm worried about their condition and the difficulty of handling them." "The tone of a '60s Stratocaster is appealing, but it's hard to find one that I can actually play."

We understand that desire to play the real thing. We want to understand the feelings of guitarists who seek a vintage instrument they can pick up and play without hesitation, not just a collector's item to admire. This 1966 Stratocaster fulfills that wish.

In January 1965, Fender was sold to CBS, but Leo Fender continued to be involved in development as a consultant.

This 1966 Stratocaster is a model born during that transitional period, and while it's from the CBS era, it retains many of Leo Fender's philosophies.

It features a transition logo, a thick headstock, a round-laminated rosewood fretboard, and an ultra-thin lacquer finish that embodies the idea that "the thinner the finish, the better."

The sunburst finish, faded from sun exposure and now tinged with a pale yellow, possesses a unique character shaped by time.

The sound differs from the sustain and power of early 1960s models,
offering a lighter, more airy tone.
Its natural response makes it a guitar you'll want to play for hours.
The pickups feature gray bobbins, providing a pleasant high-frequency response.
While it retains its original 3-way switch, a 5-way switch would further enhance the appeal of the half-tones.

Even as is, this guitar is a vintage instrument that can be thoroughly enjoyed.

Early CBS, transitional Stratocasters, feature a unique specification that exquisitely blends the pre-CBS atmosphere with the characteristics of the CBS era.
Highly original examples are becoming increasingly rare, and it's extremely uncommon to find one in this condition on the market.

This 1966 Stratocaster possesses the style of a vintage instrument while offering the reassuring comfort of everyday play. Experience its light and expansive tone for yourself. This is a guitar I wholeheartedly recommend to both collectors and players.
