Up for sale is a beautiful 1996 Rickenbacker 330 in its classic Mapleglo finish. Built in the USA in October of 1996, this iconic semi-hollow electric embodies everything players have loved about Rickenbackers for decades. With its unmistakable styling, lightweight semi-hollow maple construction, and brilliantly articulate voice, the 330 has earned its place in the hands of legendary artists spanning the British Invasion, jangle pop, classic rock, alternative, and indie music.
This example is in excellent overall condition and has clearly been well cared for throughout its life. The gorgeous Mapleglo finish has aged beautifully and exhibits only light swirling and fine clear coat scratches from careful handling and routine cleaning. There are also a few shallow divots in the lower frets from previous play, but the frets themselves remain very clean with plenty of life remaining. Overall, this is a remarkably clean guitar that presents exceptionally well. Please refer to the photos for a complete cosmetic overview.
The guitar retains its original factory Rickenbacker Hi-Gain pickups, which feature the distinctive mid-’90s “button-top” design with chrome center-divider strips with Toaster covers used by Rickenbacker during this era. These pickups combine the unmistakable punch, clarity, and signature Rickenbacker chime that have made the Hi-Gain design a favorite for decades. Complementing the vintage aesthetic of the original Toaster pickup covers is an aftermarket Accent Vibrato tailpiece, giving the guitar the timeless vintage aesthetic of a classic ’60s Rickenbacker while preserving its original factory voice. Please note that the original pickup covers and original tailpiece are not included.
This guitar was recently given a professional setup with a fresh set of 10-46 gauge strings, so it plays wonderfully with a straight neck, low action, and accurate intonation. It is ready to enjoy the moment it arrives.
