2019 Explorer!!

The Explorator, which quietly debuted in 1958 as part of Gibson's modernist guitar line alongside the Flying V and Modern, was produced for only a short period of one year until 1959, after which production ceased.

Production resumed in 1975.

This model, which we have in stock, is based on a 1970s re-production model, featuring an all-mahogany body with a rosewood fingerboard.

Equipped with 70's Tribute pickups, its specifications are those of a 2020 model.

While possessing the characteristic thickness of a Gibson in the midrange, the bright high frequencies make it perfect for down-picking in hard rock and metal, and the distortion in Marshall amps is pleasingly pleasing, resulting in a fun sound to play.
