1994 Gibson Yamano Les Paul Classic Premium Plus Translucent Amber w/OHSC, AAA, 9lbs, Slash
Now available is this exceptional, all original 1994 Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium Plus, originally ordered through Yamano during Gibson's renowned "good wood" era. It features a breathtaking AAA+ figured flame maple top, on a one-piece mahogany body, a fast-playing '60s slim-taper neck profile, and includes its original Gibson-branded TKL hardshell case along with the still unattached "1960" pickguard.
Widely regarded as one of the last guitars from Gibson's famed "Good Wood Era," it's easy to see why these instruments have earned such a loyal following. Highly figured tops like this are rarely found on modern Gibson USA models unless you're prepared to pay Custom Shop prices. The quality control, fit, and finish from this period are also widely praised, and a side-by-side comparison with a current production Les Paul Standard speaks for itself.
The top is this guitar's standout features. Depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, the figuring transforms dramatically, with the flame appearing to ripple and dance across the maple. At certain angles it displays striking, three-dimensional depth, while at others it becomes more understated and refined, revealing the kind of subtle elegance often associated with vintage examples.
Condition-wise, this guitar presents exceptionally well. It has no breaks, repairs, or structural issues and is 100% functional in every respect. Cosmetically, it shows only light signs of careful use, including minor surface marks, a few small dings, and light buckle rash to the rear of the body. Overall, it remains a very attractive example that we would confidently describe as being in excellent condition.
The neck and rosewood fingerboard are also in excellent condition, showing minimal wear, while all 22 frets retain plenty of life for many years of playing. The original electronics remain untouched and function perfectly, featuring the factory-fitted open-coil 496R neck and 500T bridge humbuckers. Together, they deliver the rich, dynamic, PAF-inspired tones for which these guitars are so highly regarded.
This one weighs in at just under 9lbs!
