Gibson A-50 Mandolin 1938 OHSC

For sale is my Gibson A-50 Mandolin in excellent condition. No cracks or breaks. This mandolin has its original finish, tailpiece cover, nut tuners, and Geib"redline" hardshell case. Original Brazilian Rosewood bridge and fretboard. All hardware is original except for the one of the bridge thumb wheels and both bridge thread screws. This mandolin is currently used for Bluegrass, set up with medium strings. It plays extremely well, and received a full re- fret in February 2026. The original finish is beautifully checked throughout, and only a minor area of finish loss on the side of the neck, by the nut is present, due to the use of an old-fashioned strap. The original pickguard deteriorated and has started to crumble and fall apart, but I can include it in with the sale, in its own Ziploc bag. The original pickguard is not stored directly with the mandolin because this pickguard is still gassing off over 88 years!
