Today, for your consideration - a left handed 1972 Gibson SG Custom! 1971 was the year that Gibson switched from the large guard SG style to that of the SG Deluxe- a la Les Paul pickguard and independent front loading control plate. You’ll find the classic diamond headstock inlay, ebony fingerboard (original frets with nibs!), three pickups, and all gold hardware. The legible pots date to late 1971.
This example is far front mint. She’s been around the block as is evident from the heavily aged white finish- plenty of yellowing, checking, and a couple flakes that have peeled off. Don’t be fooled. She’s nothing but a sweetheart and all original aside from the knobs and switch tip. This is a WONDERFUL playing instrument with a very low action and a perfect weight balance with zero neck dive. Weighs in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces- perfect stage weight.
This may not be the only left handed SG Custom from this era, but it’s more than likely the only one that was ordered in white. The guitar will ship in a newer 1990s Gibson USA hard case with tracking and insurance provided.
We always ship with tracking and insurance provided. All items are professionally packed to the highest standard possible.
