Gariepy Open Back Vintage 5 String Banjo 60's

For sale here is a good condition vintage 60's Gariepy Open Back 5 String Banjo!

It has a potted aluminum rim with 24 lugs, does not have a coordinator rod, and proudly wears a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. This banjo has been with us for a while awaiting some minor restorations to its former glory. It just underwent a full restring, fingerboard cleaning, rim polishing, and inspection for the tuning of the head.

Now, this old banjo is confident again as a comfortable strong player. Worth noting is that the tailpiece, 5th peg, and bridge are not original to the instrument.

This would be a fun pick for a vintage string buff, or an intermediate-pro banjo player who wants a unique open back to have some fun with! It definitely has years of play ready to give.

As with any old instrument, there is typical usewear and not everything is still shining and glimmering, you can tell it has been loved with some markings and light dings etc around the instrument. No major damage to functionality or cosmetic appeal is present.
