The Guitar Dude Custom Build JM #001 "Bubble Gum"
Serial # JM # 001
Weight: 7 lbs 12 oz’s!!
Comes with a DELUXE Custom Hard Case, Checkerboard Strap & Certificate of Authenticity, Original Pickup Covers, Switch Tip and Case Keys.
NOTE: I purchased original 1960's Fender Jazzmaster Knobs and Pickup Covers Matched from Same Jazzmaster ($680), Vintage-Spec Switch Tip ($25) and Fender Mint Green Pickguard ($50) = $755. The pickguard it came with was very loud (checkerboard - see 2nd to last picture) and these upgrades really make this guitar POP and look more true to the era.
(FROM GUITAR DUDE POSTING WHEN I PURCHASED)
This ain't just a guitar; it's a one-of-one relic'd rocket, born from the flames of a 1959/1969 Hybrid but cranked to eleven for the modern shredder. She's a flamingo-pink, fire-breathing freak of nature, roasted, relic'd, and engineered to make every other Jazzmaster on the planet slink away in shame. Louder, faster, and forever untouchable – this is the very first Guitar Dude Jazzmaster ever crafted, and she's screaming your name.
Picture this: a premium MJT lightweight alder body (clocking in at a featherweight 3.63 lbs) drenched in thin-skin vintage-spec nitrocellulose lacquer, lightly aged in that eye-searing Hot Pink that pops like bubblegum under stage lights. Expertly relic'd by MJT with authentic weather checking, subtle dings, and honest play-wear – it looks like it survived the sticky-floored clubs of California's '66 summer tour, but feels brand new in your hands. No compromises here; just pure, resonant tone-wood that's built to sing.
Now, grip that neck – a deluxe USA roasted Canadian maple shaft paired with a bound Indian rosewood fretboard and creamy binding, all finished in aged amber satin nitro for that buttery, vintage glow. Block inlays guide your fingers across a 9.5” radius board loaded with 22 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets, leveled, crowned, and hand-polished to mirror perfection. The modern C profile tapers from .840” (21.5mm) at the 1st fret to .920” (23.0mm) at the 12th, with a precision-cut 1-5/8” bone nut, headstock truss rod access, and 10mm tuner holes. From the 12th fret upward, it's a fall-away dream for effortless bends and zero fret-out – slicker than any vintage neck you've ever dared to touch, with that sweet roasted-maple snap making vibrato feel unfairly easy. It can be shipped with or without the Fender JM logo.
Under the hood? Pure sonic sorcery. Jason Lollar Original ’58 Jazzmaster pickups, hand-wound in California – the gold standard for that ice-pick lead tone, warm rhythm thump, and everything in between. Wired with a full 1959–1964 USA vintage-correct harness, featuring two authentic vintage holy-grail NOS Red Dime Sprague “Black Beauty” tone capacitors, premium Fender CTS 1 Meg TVT split-shaft pots, Switchcraft switches and mono jack, and Gavitt vintage cloth wire throughout. The rhythm circuit? Loaded with Alpha mini pots and Fender thumb wheels, dialed for creamy lead-channel magic that bites like the real thing – only better.
Hardware that's as bombproof as it is beautiful: a Fender American Vintage Reissue bridge and tremolo assembly (pure ’62 spec), floating for ~2 whole-step pulls with buttery smooth action and perfect return-to-pitch. Kluson “Single Line” vintage tuners in nickel keep her locked in tune, no matter how hard you wail.
This is not a reissue. This is not a tribute. This is #001, certified authentic with serial TGD-JM-001, hand-built with zero compromises and maximum attitude. Signed and sworn: "Bubble Gum" is officially yours – a one-of-one Hot Pink Roaster Jazzmaster that'll make a ’64 blush. Play it loud. Play it proud. Never to be duplicated. Ever.
