Stomp Under Foot The Amherst '76 Ram's Head 2020s - Mascis inspired

Quality Mascis-inspired Ram's Head with box. Aside from a few scuffs on the bottom, the pedal is in great condition and plays amazing. I do not believe Matt at SUF is still making these as I don't see it listed on the site anymore. These are still being distributed by Coast Sonic, who state that the Amherst Fuzz was built from Matt’s traced schematic of J’s famous muff using modern equivalent components.

Probably not recommended as a beginner's muff. But I wouldn't let THAT stand in my way. Get ready to cause destruction.

I have tried this pedal AND the Garbage Face Jr. (GF) -- they sound very similar. The Amherst is a tiny bit more gnarly than the GF, but it's negligible. Personally, if I had to choose one based on sound alone, I'd go with whatever is cheaper.

Non-sound related differences between The Amherst & GF Jr. to consider:

• The Amherst allows a battery (a reprieve for the power input on the side)
  Garbage Face Jr. has power through the top but doesn't take a battery
• The Amherst ISN'T an officially sanctioned J Mascis signature pedal, GF Jr. is
• The Amherst art is cool but more subtle than Garbage Face Jr.'s art
  (if you're playing Dinosaur Jr. songs at church or school, The Amherst is a better choice)
