Sabian Signature Jack Dejohnette Encore series Ride cymbal 1995-2007 - Natural unlathed

A large, rare and gorgeous unlathed cymbal developed by Sabian and master drummer the late, great Jack Dejohnette. This cymbal fits nicely into the lineage of the legendary Paiste Sound Creation and the Sabian Signature Jack Dejohnette lines with this series being the dryest and some of the heaviest with a natural unlathed top and bottom. My understanding is Jack got rather obsessive with this model and the flat rides looking for a sound he wanted to cary through the late 90's and early 2000's as modern jazz continued to develop throughout the era. Heavy at 3620g, dark and complex but tightly controlled with supreme stick definition and as dry as a bone.

There are a lot of 20" versions of this cymbal available but very few at the 22" full sized ride available on the market. Some scratches and general wear along with some stick paint in a couple of areas as well as a smudge on the top that I'm unsure of what the origin is but in very good shape for its age, no cracks or keyholing and only one or two fleabites around the edge that are so minor I have never bothered to hone out. I collected as much of his cymbals as I could but I really never play this cymbal any more in favor of some Sound Creation bell and dark rides so I think it's time to let go of it! Side note: if you can find crashes from this series they are all amazing, they all have slightly turned up edges like small chinas but a really nice dry rapid decay
