The cassette door is opened using the OPEN button and closed manually before playback. Once closed, the deck plays, fast-forwards, rewinds, and ejects normally.

All three units are exceptionally clean with the beautiful champagne silver/gold Marantz finish. They make a stunning matching vintage system and are becoming increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
