Up for sale is a Beautiful, highly collectible vintage 1967 Slingerland Sound-King Chrome Over Brass (COB) snare drum. This drum features the iconic Black & Brass oval " Niles, III." badge (Serial No. 165261), dating it right to 1967. The dual-flanged Brass stick saver hoops and heavy brass shell give this drum it's legendary warm-yet-cutting crack, incredible sensitive, and rich musical overtones. The snare was taken completely apart and everything was given a overnight Dawn bath. Every part was cleaned, polished and all moving parts were lubricated. I replaced the heads with BRAND NEW Remo Ambassador Batter & Snare-Side heads. I also replaced the snare-wires with BRAND NEW Vic Firth vintage 20 strand wires. The chrome is in great shape for its age with only typical light surface wear and minor cosmetic aging. There are a couple small minor dings on the shell but very minor. The Zoomatic strainer and the original muffler works flawlessly. This snare sounds absolutely phenomenal. An absolute studio legend and a killer addition to any vintage collection or drum kit !!!!!
