1975 Les Paul Custom in Wine Red with Gold hardware.
Lovely condition with very little use since new. Small amount of buckle rash on the back and the gold plating is aging just as you would expect.
Plays beautifully and sounds lovely - it has Patent number T top pickups.
As far as I can tell it is pretty much in original condition. The person I bought it from had it from new and didn't really like it so didn't play it much. Little or no fret wear and the binding nibs are all present as you would expect from a guitar of this era that has not been refretted.
Tuners are 'deluxe' gold Grovers with the adjustment clutches that all work as expected.
Fretboard is ebony with no marks or wear apparent.
Body is Norlin era pancake construction. Appears to be mahogany top and back with a maple centre insert.
Binding is in excellent condition and has shrunk very slightly as is to be expected for an instrument of this age. There is some leeching of the body colour into the binding - again, not unexpected for these guitars.
Serial number indicates either a 1974 or 1975 guitar. Date codes on the tone pots (not possible to see the codes on the volume pots) indicate they were produced on the 23rd week of 1975 so this is probably a mid 1975 guitar.
Weight is 10 pounds and 3 ounces (in freedom units) or 4.62 kg for the rest of the world.
Purchase includes a hard case which appears to be about right for the era although I can't verify that, a strap and a truss rod key.
I do not have any way of packing or shipping this item so it is collection only from central Cambridge, UK.
It is a lovely bit of kit, but I really don't get along with Les Pauls so it should go to somebody who will appreciate its charms.
