Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a unique 1970's era Electro Voice 672A model Dynamic Cardioid Microphone with a Low impedance setting and perfect for general broadcasting and singing purposes as it was intended. This was based on the similar 672 that was also set at low impedance but the 672 model had the built in lower pistol grip as where the 672A was a standard stick mic. Otherwise, both microphones were basically identical in design. This quality mic comes with a mic clip, cable and a bonus inline transformer in which to operate. More on that in a minute.
Pic # 2 shows the 672 model mic but again, the frequency response and tone on the 672 & 672A are identical. This mic has a warm, smooth tone with just the right amount of bass. 150 OHMS. The cardioid element has excellent uni-directional capabilities as well.
The 672 is a very rugged design with an all metal body and satin chrome finish. This mic has bling factor but it's actually very lite weight and easy to hold for prolonged periods of time.
As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in extremely nice cosmetic condition with almost zero wear. They just don't come any nicer than this. The satin chrome finish is free of dents, fractures or pitting. The mesh grill looks excellent with zero deformation, odors or discoloration and the inner foam liner / pop filter is new. I had to replace both inner pop filters as these fall apart after about 30 to 40 years. This one is good to go for at least another 40 years now.
The on / off switch slides smooth and works without issue. The mic has a small locking mechanism to the side of the switch as well if you want to keep the switch in the permanent on position.
Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The XLR connection was cleaned as well to ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached. She's good to go.
The mic does come with an XLR cable which is appx 20 feet long. Soft, pliable and in excellent shape. Perfect for stage or studio use. It has the standard male Switchcraft XLR end connector as well.
You'll notice that there is an Archer brand inline transformer included that you can attach to the end of the cable if you have any Hi Z audio equipment that requires a Hi Z mic. The transformer will convert the mic from low Z to Hi Z with the transformer attached giving you a ton more options when it comes to using the mic. The transformer is in perfect physical and operating condition.
The 671A also comes with the aftermarket model mic clip that grips the mic firmly and looks almost as nice as the mic. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension and is adjustable. It will screw onto any mic stand you have.
You have everything you need. Plug in and do your thing. Mic is an easy 9 + cosmetically on a scale of 1 - 10 and sounds absolutely golden.
MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
