For sale is an AKAI GX 4000D 7 inch 4 track 2 channel stereo Reel to Reel tape deck recorder. It is in very good condition albeit with some scuffs and marks as shown. A new power cord was spliced on as the original one was cut off by the previous owner. i cleaned up the face plate the best of my ability. Refer to pics. It has been tested, serviced, calibrated and the heads were cleaned and demagnetized for the best sound ever. The mic inputs were tested and they work as well as the other inputs. The pots and switches were sprayed and the metal parts were lubed as well. Both channels are clear and superb sounding as well. The belts and caps were checked and they’re good. All the functions work and the VU Meters light up and jump like they are supposed to. The sound when recording at 3 3/4 IPS is very clear and better and wider sounding than the Source recording from, depending on the type of tape used and better at 7 1/2 IPS (with the speed sleeve) .
