Phillips CDR-785 Audio CD Recorder/Player

A Unit that Time Preserved! - This unit seemed to have a defect early on likely when it came out of the box that prevented it from working, so seems to not have been used at all - now after all those years finally repaired: so that this unit can start it's life - it seems to work strong and fresh - it performs as if it was close to new!

Features: - Audio CD Recorder: records digitally from CDs, digital in (optical and coaxial), analog in (line level), with Mic input that can be mixed into the recording - Player: 3 disc CD Changer - Use for: Make a new compilation CD from various CDs (creates play lists that can be automatically played) and mix your voice in via the Mic input - Use as a CD recorder for what ever audio, including your own music coming in via analog / digital audio in - Have a 3 CD juke box player to play your own CDs... and so much more! Nothing like having a physical CD of your own work in your hands...

Physical condition: good - with blemishes and sings of use/physical damage - this unit is very clean inside (as if it just came out of the box) and indicates very little use, but had some exterior damage, so is not physically perfect - asides from these blemishes: good to excellent

Working: Works as it should - seems to work good and strong - I fully tested it in detail

Work performed: Originally the tray open / close switch of the recorder was bad (It may have been a manufacturers defect: bad switch), so the tray would not open - who ever owned it before got frustrated and physically broke the switch and the board on which it is mounted. The CD Player (Changer's) door was jammed, so it would not open. Both of these problems prevented the unit from being usable. I repaired these problems in detail, but also I replaced the loading belt on the recorder. In order to facilitate the above repairs I had to take the unit completely apart. It was not easy to work on. If I would bill for the repair it would be in the $350 range.
