Ever wanted to take a time machine back to ‘68? Good news. All you need is this guitar.

Up for grabs is what I would describe as a time capsule—a barely played 1968 Gibson ES-335 TD in Tobacco Sunburst. Everything here is all original down to the case. The guitar also boasts the rare 1968 specific pickguard.

TONE

Not only is this one of the cleanest Gibsons around, but we all know the ES-335 has massive versatility—throw any genre at it and it can do it. And with those smooth sixties era patent number pickups, nothing is sacrificed. Bell like clean tones and creamy overdriven tones, this guitar is your Swiss Army knife of music.

PLAYABILITY

Whether it be lead or rhythm, I can easily glide up and down the neck. And don’t let the lore about the skinny ‘60s necks scare you. As a fat fingered guitar player, the carve of the neck is extremely comfortable.

CONDITION

All but two small dents in the finish (pictured) and minimal swirling, this is among the cleanest late sixties Gibsons you will ever come across. Owned by a single family previous to me, this remained in a case, virtually its whole life. No repairs, no swapped parts, just vintage beauty.

There is minimal play wear evident.
