This is a vintage fixed arm Bigsby I found in a box of parts. It does not have a spring but the overall cosmetic condition looks good. I called Fender and discussed the markings on it and based on those they think it’s from the late 50s/early 60s.
After talking with Ed Ball of the Gretsch Book, looks like this is probably a bit of a Franken—bigsby. The body is probably 60s (the patent number marking style is from the 60s). The arm style is from the 50s, and the hinge piece is likely from the 70s.
