Ultra-Rare 2008 Pearl Reference Redline Limited Edition

Released in April 2008, the Pearl Reference Redline Series was offered as a strictly limited collector's edition. According to Pearl's original product announcement, only 50 White-on-White Redline sets and 50 Black-on-Black Redline sets were produced worldwide.

This matching 14" x 6.5" 20-ply Reference Redline snare was built exclusively for the White-on-White limited edition . Unlike Pearl's standard Reference snares, the Redline was never part of the regular production lineup, making original examples exceptionally scarce. Many remain with their original shell packs, making standalone snares like this one exceedingly difficult to find.

The Redline Series is instantly recognizable by its factory white powder-coated hardware, proprietary red isolation gaskets, matching Redline badge, and massive 20-ply (25 mm / 1") Reference shell.

Condition

This snare is in excellent overall condition and has been carefully inspected.

The shell retains its original white finish with excellent color and gloss. The interior is exceptionally clean, the bearing edges are excellent, and all factory hardware remains original.

There are a couple of tiny marks on the bottom hoop, most likely from sitting on a snare stand.

Pearl designed the original Reference Series around the concept that different shell compositions should be optimized for specific drum sizes and musical applications.

Pearl's original 20-ply Reference snares have become legendary for their incredible projection, articulation, sensitivity, and sheer power. The Redline edition elevates that platform into one of the most collectible Reference variants ever produced.

Finding one in complete, original condition with its factory white powder-coated hardware, red isolation gaskets, SR-1000 Glide-Lock strainer, MasterCast hoops, and Reference batter head is exceptionally uncommon.

Because these drums were built exclusively for the limited Redline shell packs, individual snares rarely become available. Most remain with their original kits, making standalone examples like this exceptionally scarce.

The shell alone is remarkable. At approximately 25 mm (1 inch) thick, this is one of the thickest production wood snare shells Pearl has ever manufactured. Combined with the premium Reference hardware package, it delivers the unmistakable authority that made the original 20-ply Reference snares famous.
