Following the StingRay released in 1976, we’ve received a used “Sabre II”—an improved version manufactured from around 1978 to 1980—in stock!

Based on the neck and pot dates, we’ve determined it was made in 1978.

It has undergone PLEK leveling and nut adjustment; while there is some slight buzzing due to the original low frets, it’s in perfectly playable condition.

Although it shows some signs of wear, it still comes with its original accessories from that era, making it a valuable collector’s item!

[PLEK Adjustment]

PLEK is a machine that quantifies and visualizes the condition of the neck, fingerboard, and frets of instruments such as guitars and basses—including the string action—to within 1/1000 of a millimeter, while the strings are strung and the instrument is tuned, just as it would be during actual performance.

This allows for the determination of the optimal setup based on string vibration, enabling ultra-high-precision fret balancing.

A PLEK adjustment results in a clearer tone, restoring the instrument’s natural resonance and providing a comfortable playing experience.

--------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------

An iconic instrument developed by Fender founder Leo Fender in the late 1970s—an essential part of electric guitar history!

Its standout feature is the built-in 9V battery-powered preamp—cutting-edge for its time—which includes a 1V output, a 2-band EQ, and two mini switches: the “Bright” switch (black), which produces a sparkling high-end, and the “Phase” switch (white), which creates a distinctive, pulsating low-cut sound.

Despite the powerful presence of its dual humbuckers, this guitar was revolutionary for its time, offering versatile sound shaping right at your fingertips.

At the time, Music Man’s “Stingray Bass” was a massive hit, overshadowing their guitars, so the guitar series—including the Sabre—was discontinued after just a few years. As a result, there aren’t many of these in circulation, so if you’re interested, don’t wait too long!
