Selling my TASCAM MSR-16 1/2” 16-track reel-to-reel tape recorder. This is a beautiful, heavy-duty analog multitrack machine that has been kept in my home studio and cared for well.
I want to be fully transparent up front:
Known issue: Output 4 RCA output jack has a broken RCA plug tip lodged in the jack. I attempted careful removal, but it remains seated. Output 4 should be considered unavailable until the piece is removed or the jack is serviced/replaced. This issue is shown clearly in the photos, and the machine is priced with this disclosed.
Aside from that known Output 4 issue, the machine is operational and working well. The transport is fast and responsive, the controls function properly, the motor feels strong, and the machine powers on and runs as expected. It has been internally cleaned and previously serviced/refurbished during my ownership, though I do not currently have the service paperwork available to include.
Cosmetically, this is in good vintage condition with visible scratches, scuffs, marks, small finish chips, and normal age-related wear. I have photographed the machine honestly, including the cosmetic wear and the Output 4 RCA issue, so please review all photos carefully.
*For serious buyers who want to see the machine in action, please message me and I’ll be happy to provide a video demonstration before purchase*
I’ve loved owning this machine, but I simply do not use tape in my current workflow enough to justify keeping it. I’d rather see it go to someone who will actually use it and enjoy it.

SHIPPING: Domestic U.S. shipping is set as a flat rate because this is a large, heavy vintage tape machine. Buyer pays shipping. The machine will be packed carefully and shipped insured.
International buyers, including Canada and the UK/EU, are welcome to message me before purchasing for a shipping quote. I am open to international shipping, but the full shipping cost, insurance availability, customs paperwork, VAT/import duties, and any carrier requirements are the buyer’s responsibility and must be handled through Reverb.
