The Collings SJ is a masterfully crafted small jumbo acoustic that combines the power and projection of a larger instrument with the comfort, balance, and responsiveness of a more compact body shape. Hand-built with exceptional attention to detail, this example features a signature from Bill Collings, making it a special piece for both players and collectors.

The SJ delivers a beautifully balanced tonal response with the clarity and headroom of Sitka spruce paired with the rich, articulate character of European maple back and sides. The result is a highly responsive instrument with strong projection, focused mids, shimmering highs, and a tight, controlled low end. The pre-war inspired scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance and dynamic range, making this guitar equally impressive for fingerstyle, flatpicking, and powerful strumming.

The stunning Sunburst finish highlights the figure of the European maple while showcasing Collings’ legendary craftsmanship and premium appointments. Featuring elegant ivoroid binding, ebony appointments, mother-of-pearl inlays, and a high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this SJ represents the level of detail and refinement that has made Collings one of the most respected names in acoustic guitars.

This guitar is all original (OG), signed by Bill Collings, and comes complete with its Original Deluxe Hardshell Case (OHSC).

Condition: 8.8/10 - Very Good. The guitar plays and sounds excellent with overall good condition. There is a finish issue in spots on the flamed maple back, along with a light finish crack following the grain on the top behind the bridge. Aside from these cosmetic issues, the instrument presents very well with no other major concerns.
