A one-off Fender MIJ Hybrid ‘60s Stratocaster professionally refinished in Daphne Blue nitrocellulose lacquer over Sherwood Green Metallic, fitted with my own hand-wound pickups and relic’d by hand to recreate the appearance and feel of a well-played vintage Strat.

The nitrocellulose lacquer has been thermally checked to create authentic lacquer checking and a naturally aged patina. The finish was hand applied, polished and relic’d with lacquer checking, dents and wear intended to resemble decades of honest use.

The body, neck, bridge and tuners are all original Fender components matching the serial number. This is an original MIJ Hybrid ’60s Strat, not a parts build.

The Sherwood Green Metallic undercoat has been deliberately revealed through the relic work, creating subtle green undertones beneath the Daphne Blue. The result is a darker, slightly weathered look that gives the finish extra depth and character.

Fender’s Hybrid ’60s series combines vintage styling with modern playability. You get the comfortable 250 mm fingerboard radius, medium jumbo frets, vintage-style locking tuners, satin neck finish and a smooth two-point tremolo.

The guitar is fitted with my own hand-built pickups: Sweet ’60s models in the bridge and middle positions, and a Classic ’50s model in the neck. The electronics are finished with CTS potentiometers and a Pure Tone output jack.

This guitar is in excellent condition. Frets show minimal wear, approximately 5% by my estimate. There are no structural issues. Naturally, the relic wear is cosmetic and forms part of the finish.

The bridge and middle pickups are my Sweet ’60s models, voiced for classic Strat chime, sparkle and excellent note separation. The neck pickup is my Classic ’50s model, offering a slightly warmer voice with a smoother top end that’s equally at home with expressive lead work and clean rhythm playing. Every pickup is wound individually rather than by machine, using the same methods and components I use across my boutique pickup range.

The guitar has been professionally set up with low action, accurate intonation and fresh strings, and is ready to play. It includes the original Fender hard case together with the factory case candy.

If you’re looking for a vintage-inspired Strat with genuine character, this isn’t something you can buy from Fender. It’s a one-off instrument built around an original MIJ Fender, refinished and voiced entirely by hand.
