Vintage Amplified Music Products (A.M.P.) Power Amplifier Model 8000 1980s?

Here’s something that you don’t see pop up for sale often. This is a high quality, sought after vintage power amp from Amplified Music Products. These are pretty rare and if you’re looking at this then you probably know more about the company‘s history and the unit’s desirability than I do.

As you can see the unit is still in good overall condition. Has the typical wear, scratches and what not, you’d expect on a unit this age. The only thing out of the ordinary is the handle on the left appears to have touched something hot at one point, and has a spot that is melted. No ill effects appear on other nearby areas though.

The unit powers up with no strange noises or smells. I don’t have a way to test it as I don’t have speakers to handle the massive 800w output. I think it’s safe to assume it’s working, though it could be that it’ll need a little contact cleaner in the pots or jacks.
