1983 Squier JV Contemporary Series Stratocaster HH Candy Apple Red Japan MIJ

The serial number is “JV78182” and the neck is dated to 1983. This is one of the early Japanese models and is the same quality as the American ones from the era.

The body is in good condition overall, but has some dings, scratches and scuffs. Nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage guitar and there are no cracks or structural issues.

The neck is straight and the frets show average wear. It’s in good playing condition and has no major issues. The fretboard is clean and the back of the neck has a few nicks but no major dings or gouges. The headstock has small dings around the edges but no cracks, repairs or extra holes. The nut is 1.66” wide, the neck measures 0.84” thick at the 1st fret and 0.93” thick at the 12th fret.

The hardware and electronics are in excellent working condition. The original saddles rusted out pretty bad and I had to replace them. The originals are included in the case and a few of them are still good.

It comes in a Fender hardshell case from the 90’s which has some general wear on the outside. It’s a little warped on the bottom end but it still works and functions as it should. All of the latches, hinges and handle are in excellent working order and the interior has no bad odors.

Actual weight for the guitar is 7 lbs 13 oz.

Please note that I do not set up my guitars before mailing. I have played it and everything is good as far as I'm concerned, but you may need to change the strings, adjust the action or do other maintenance to get it to your preferences.
