Gibson / 2023 1942 Banner J-45 Murphy Lab Light Aged

-Murphy Lab

Tom Murphy, a Gibson Master Artisan, reigns supreme at Gibson Custom as a leading expert in aging (a technique that reproduces the scratches and weather checking of a guitar that has been played for many years).

He scientifically analyzed and researched the lacquer components of that era (1950-1960), and through Tom's hand-finishing combination, he achieves the look and sound of a vintage guitar that has been played for many years, even though it is brand new, resulting in a guitar with a natural weather checking effect.

-1942 Banner J-45

The J-45 was introduced in 1942, as indicated in the product name.

The headstock features the Gibson script logo, as well as the so-called banner logo with the words "ONLY A GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH."

This guitar meticulously reproduces the specifications of the 1942 model, including the round-shoulder body made of spruce and mahogany, the small pickguard, and the long saddle on the rectangular bridge.

ーJ-45 with a Light Aged Finish

This product is one of the light aged options (light/heavy).
It reproduces not only weather checking, but also pick scratches and damage around the soundhole, small dents, and even the tarnish on the tuners.
The texture of the lacquer and the realism of the damage are of a quality that is on par with vintage guitars.

This product is recommended for those who admire the J-45 in the banner, or for those who already own a vintage J-45 and want to use this as a secondary guitar.

You will definitely feel the texture and feel when you actually hold it in your hands.
