Very good condition 1968 Fender Jazz Bass in a rare original black finish. No breaks or significant repairs to speak of. August 1968 neck date. Bound and blocked rosewood veneer neck. Transition logo. Original gray-bottom pickups. Original CTS electronics date to 1967 with the tone pot and cap changed. 4-bolt neck. Action is playable with a slight swell near the 14th fret and heel. Original bridge and pickup covers are in excellent condition. No scratchy pots etc. Neck plays smoothly and fits the hand well. Original pickups have a huge low end characteristic to them. Resonant and thumpy. This example has some nice play wear on the back of the body, but was still kept exceptionally well for the age. Original tuners spin well and hold tune nicely. Comes with original Fender bass strap as pictured. Original black 60’s Fender Jazz Basses are in the same ballpark as fiesta red, so it is very cool to see an example in this nice of condition. This would be an exceptional studio or live instrument, and has been freshly set up and is ready to go. Comes with a nice Fender hardshell case that fits the bass perfectly. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
