Radel DX-Soft Analog Saarang/Tampura with Original Case and Manual

Original manual with significant wear...but basically it says "turn knobs and move switches."

Powering this Instrument

This instrument works from batteries or 110v AC. The 110-220v switch has been hardwired to 110v for reliability. However the transformer contains windings for 220v, but 220v is untested and not accessible without changing the selector switch, power cable, etc.

About the DX-Soft

The DX-Soft is a Deluxe with another knob labeled "Pluck" to control the attack. At one end there is a sharper attack similar to the fixed attack of the Deluxe. At the other end, there is a slow attack and the drone is more static. The video demonstrates this.

This DX-Soft is a later version without a fine control for the primary Sa. According to the manual Radel eliminated the fine tune for the primary Sa across the lineup because it confused users.

Unlike the Deluxe that I had before, the potentiometer for the second Sa is switched. This allows isolating the primary Sa. The video demonstrates this.
