Fostex Model 80 Modified 7.5 and 15ips Tape Speeds.

Here is a Modified Fostex Model 80 ¼" 8-track reel-to-reel. It was Modified to run at 7.5ips and 15ips tape speeds. It has only been used on archiving tapes that were recorded on Tascam ¼" 8-track tapes or Fostex ¼" 8-track tapes running at 15 ips. Frequency response is +- 1DB at both speeds. It has never been used for recording, only for playback/ archiving purposes. Some of the meters don't work up to spec., it is my understanding that there are chips on the meter boards that are not available any more. It has an Athan pinch roller that is about 2-3 years old and in good condition. The heads are in good condition. The deck was modified by Soren Winttrup at cs electronics 4 or 5 years ago, a noted tape recorder specialist, and tweaked about a year ago by him also. It included the trolly.
