For sale today is an absolutely fantastic-sounding Gibson Southern Jumbo from 1953. A few notes on the overall condition:
-This guitar has some lacquer checking, dings, & scratches, but does not have any outstanding structural issues (see photos). We did need to reglue some braces when it came in, but now it is rock solid.
-There a couple small back cracks, but they are stable.
-The bridge has been replaced, as have the tuner buttons.
-The frets have some wear, but they still have plenty of life and the guitar rings out beautifully up and down the fretboard without dead spots, significan buzzing, or other major issues.
-The action is just over 6/64" at the 12th fret on the low E and right around 6/64" on the high E, with a bit of room to come down at the saddle, but not much.
-Nut Width is 1 11/16" (42.73mm)
-Weight is 4 lbs. 1.27 oz.
-Includes original hardshell case.
This guitar will be packed with the utmost care and ship fully insured with the original hardshell case. Please reach out if you have any additional questions, thanks for looking!
