Vintage Guild D-25 Bluegrass acoustic guitar from 1972. This early version of the D-25 utilized full mahogany construction and traditional construction techniques (unlike the stained spruce tops and arched backs of the later 70s D-25's).
When I originally got this guitar, it needed a full neck reset and had 2 small cracks (<2" in length) on its back. Ryan Elewaut of Solstice Guitars in Flagstaff Arizona performed all necessary work in Spring/Summer of 2024, including:
- Full Neck Reset
- Glue repaired (2) small back cracks
- Fret level
- new bone saddle & new bone nut
- Setup / set action, adjust neck relief, clean, restring, etc.
(See last photo for record of work completed & additional details)
The guitar sounds great after 50+ years of opening up, and after Ryan's work, is probably one of the best playing 1970's Guilds out there. Minor cosmetic wear is present, as shown in photos.
Includes original hardshell case which shows wear and has (1) damaged latch, but it's sturdy, no foul odors/smells, and is still fully functional with 4 of 5 original latches working.. The Guild logo badge is missing. Includes the original (very) worn bridge pins that were replaced during the above mentioned work.
