Lovely rare 1980 Gibson 335-S Professional Deluxe in tobacco burst with original Dirty Fingers pickups. Extra rare being a 1980 with the first fret dot marker on its ebony board. I've tried to capture the condition in pics. A couple noticeable scratches on top, buckle rash on the back and otherwise minor signs of use you would expect for a 46 year old guitar. The most important thing is that the neck is super clean and free of dents/dings. Slight fretsprout/line in the binding at the frets that I don't feel when I play it, but thought I'd mention it. Truss rod moves nicely with plenty of room left.
Alright, the mods:
-I had the strap button moved from the center of the body/neck to the upper bout
-The pickups needed to be rewound, but I had them done to spec by a professional luthier so they read the appropriate 16k
-I had the wiring for vol/tone pots switched because I use the bridge volume more often and prefer it handier near the bridge. This is an easy switch back and didn't undo the factory solder seeing as the pickups needed to be rewound anyways. Coil split works the same
-I had the frets levelled and set up with heavy strings for low tuning, but have put some new 10-46's. There might be a couple spots that want a bit of attention, but they're miles better than they were. I didn't want to overdo it with the original Norlin frets so you can tweak it to your preferred setup.
Comes in original case which has seen better days, but works just fine apart from broken handle. Handle is included and I've fashioned one out of yarn which does the job
