Just arrived – spectacular condition and sound! Plays so well.
Super rare in Australia, this Texan is pre squeeze head stock & has the “short wide headstock”. This Blonde Beauty is post Epiphone spade peg with the huge V shape necks. It has the very comfortable 1962 Gibson style neck shape. The 1962 FT-79N is a very clean original guitar! Like the Paul McCartney Blonde Texan, it has had the Tune-o-matic (TOM) disappear… Yay~ ! We thought being a transition year for the TOM (1962), it was a regular saddle, though some magician has fitted a Brazilian Rosewood (Correct Grain) Bridge and made it look like it’s never been replaced. There is of coarse, fills in the solid bridge plate from the TOM that is the only giveaway.
Nearly everyone can instantly recall the sound of the opening chords to The Beatles’ “Yesterday,” and that is the sound of the Epiphone Texan. This beloved slope-shoulder dreadnought acoustic has also been played by Graham Nash, Noel Gallagher, Ben Gibbard, and Peter Frampton, among others—a testament to its sonic pedigree.
