First Impressions

The first thing you'll notice is just how comfortable this guitar feels.

Finished in a gorgeous Natural (NT) satin finish, the solid spruce top has developed a warm honey glow while the figured solid maple back and sides shimmer beautifully as the light moves across them.

Like so many fine K. Yairis, its beauty comes from exceptional wood selection rather than excessive ornamentation.

How It Plays

This may be one of the easiest-playing acoustics I've owned.

The slim mahogany neck paired with the ebony fingerboard feels incredibly natural—especially for players with smaller hands like mine. Everything feels relaxed and effortless.

It's lightweight, perfectly balanced, and simply disappears in your lap.

After only a few minutes, you stop thinking about the guitar and start thinking about the music.

How It Sounds

The voice is everything you'd expect from a handcrafted Japanese K. Yairi.

Clear.

Balanced.

Musical.

Every note is well defined without ever becoming harsh or brittle.

The bass is supportive without becoming boomy, the mids remain wonderfully articulate, and the trebles stay sweet and singing.

Whether you're fingerpicking, accompanying vocals, or flatpicking melodies, the guitar responds with remarkable balance and refinement.

Condition

This RF-K13-MAP is in beautiful overall condition.

I'd comfortably describe it as almost immaculate.

The finish remains exceptionally clean with only the lightest evidence of careful ownership. The frets show very little wear, the ebony fingerboard is excellent, and the original K. Yairi hard shell case is also in very nice condition.
