CAMCO hi-hat 1960s - CHROME

GENUINE USA-MADE CAMCO HI-HAT, GRANDDADDY OF EVERYTHING YOU SEE FROM DW. There are a few non-original parts:

1. cymbal cup has been replaced - the old one wore out

2. the original wing nut that is used to tighten the upright pole to the base has been replaced with a Gibraltar wing-screw, as the original was lost.

3. In picture number 4 you will see that I replaced the old wing-screws that hold the tops of the two pointed shafts used to keep the hi-=hat from creeping. These 7/16" nuts can be tightened with any Ludwig (or other) hex-head nut key that came with all American drum sets in the '50s and '60s that had a rail consolette. Or you can replace it with a wing screw that has American SAE (non-metric) thread. Gretsch, Ludwig, Rogers, Slingerland, etc. all had them; I just don't happen to have one in my parts drawer.

4. The cymbal clutch is a new Gibraltar.

5. The rubber tips on the legs have been replaced; the old ones wore out.

The footboard, upright shaft, frame, anchor poles, springs, tension wheel and upright pole are all original Camco. This equipment is well-maintained, works smoothly, and best of all, is small enough for almost any trap case and doesn't weight as much as today's monster mash hardware. Very versatile, especially for jazz and other small-room gigs. You will welcome it.

NB: on of the pictures shows an old Camco clutch. This was stripped and was replayed with the new Gibraltar mentioned above. I might have some old partial Camco parts; if you buy the hi-hat, I'll look for them and throw in anything I find. But no promises; I may not have anything.
