1990s Technics SB-C936 Desktop Guitar Speaker Cabinet with Original 8Ω Technics Speaker

This custom desktop guitar speaker cabinet delivers a warm, balanced voice with smooth highs, controlled bass, and excellent note definition at home-friendly volumes. Built by Retrovox Vintage Audio from an original 1990s Technics SB-C936 center-channel speaker, it retains its factory 8-ohm Technics driver and original cabinet while providing an easy way to connect modern guitar amplifiers.

Unlike many converted vintage cabinets, no permanent modifications have been made to the cabinet or speaker. The original Technics spring terminals remain intact, and the cabinet includes a spring-terminal-to-1/4-inch speaker adapter that allows connection to standard guitar amplifiers while preserving the cabinet's originality. The adapter can be removed at any time, returning the cabinet to its original speaker-terminal configuration for home audio use if desired.

The original Technics driver delivers a smooth, balanced response with warm mids, controlled bass, and clear highs that pair especially well with low-watt amplifiers and pedal-based rigs. Compared with many vintage utility speakers, it offers greater fullness while still providing the natural dynamics and character that make small guitar cabinets enjoyable for recording and home playing. It works well for clean tones, edge-of-breakup sounds, blues, classic rock, indie, garage rock, surf, ambient, and lo-fi recording applications.
