Best amp Orange ever put out, no doubt about it, this one's in mint condition. I just collected it. These have real spring rever tanks and one of the best attenuators you can get on an amp that comes with one. I wish attenuators came on every amp. It is the ultimate apartment or bedroom amp, because of the attenuator. The attenuator allows you to turn your gain all the way up and your volume down, that way you don't lose your gorgeous dirt tones at low volumes. When you turn down the volume on an amp without an attenuator, you lose your dirt tones pretty much entirely. So it's a versatile Kick-Ass rock and roll amp all the way around. Very rare and very collectible.

Do not buy the 200 watt version unless you're using it for bass for the Headroom.. the 50 W Thunderverb is much better suited for six string guitar tones, and it can act as a great bass amp as well. It is designed for both bass and guitar, that is one of the reasons why they are a bit pricey. As I said this one is stock and mint and like brand new with the JJ tubes. You won't have to worry about tubes in this amp for years if ever, and they use the best transformers on the market. Orange did not cut any corners with the Thunderverb 50. This was a mint backup amp that I just never had to use and can't justify keeping it any longer since I have another one in mint condition. They don't come around often so I bought two through the years. I would get it now because they're just going to slowly creep up in price. You can find a lot of different opinions on what this amp sounds like, and there's no other orange amp that it sounds like, and no, it does not sound like the Dual Dark 50 either. It has a unique orange voice all its own, perfect from anything from country to the doomiest sludge metal, and modern metal tones with pedals. You're going to be amazed at how great the clean Channel takes pedals. You're also going to be amazed at how great the Reverb is on these because Orange amps have a splashy Reverb usually, the reverb in this is not splashy, it's very close to Fender type Reverb, truly an amazing amp and I hate selling it. It has all the high gain dirt tones you really need, even without pedals. All you really need with this amp is a tube screamer type of pedal in front of it, just to give it that extra magic, and tighten everything up perfectly.
