1981 Gibson Sonex-180 Deluxe Silver, 100% Original w/ Velvet Brick, Case
Up for sale, a 1981 Gibson Sonex-180 Deluxe in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A descendant of the Marauder and S-1 lineage, the Sonex was an accessible Gibson electric guitar for the budding '80s rocker, made with a Resonwood body tested to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from −40 °F to 180 °F, and a mahogany tonewood core for sonic integrity. The solid Silver finish is an exceptionally rare variant, with production purportedly limited to 100 instruments.
The guitar boasts bolt-on neck construction with an unbound rosewood fingerboard, and the two increased-output "Velvet Brick" zebra bobbin humbuckers are ideally suited for high-gain shred and compressed, cutting cleans. Weighing 9lbs 1oz, this Gibson Sonex-180 Deluxe benefits from a professional setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and fast action.
