I am offering a Gibson J-45 Standard VS from 2009, a crafted in Bozeman, Montana (USA), all solid timber acoustic guitar featuring the legendary Slope Shoulder Dreadnought design, resonant Sitka spruce top, back and sides made of warm-sounding mahogany, set mahogany neck with SlimTaper neck profile and 43.8mm TUSQ nut, elegant rosewood fingerboard with shimmering mother-of-pearl dot inlays, high-quality Grover Rotomatic tuners, and an L.R. Baggs Element pickup system in a beautifully graded Vintage Sunburst high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with tortoise pickguard and cream bindings in excellent condition, with black Gibson deluxe hardshell case, manufacturer’s papers, and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.
Today, this J-45 Standard carries on the legacy of the iconic Gibson Round Shoulder acoustic line. The popular all-solid Round Shoulder Acoustic Gibson J-45 is considered an absolute classic and was first introduced in 1942. Thanks to its wide dynamic range with warm mids and powerful bass, it still bears the affectionate nickname “Workhorse” to this day.
Like the original from the 1940s, this modern interpretation features a solid mahogany back and sides, as well as a solid Sitka spruce top, which is given ample space to resonate thanks to the scalloped X-bracing. The rosewood fingerboard, with its dark brown grain, is adorned with glossy mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and the one-piece mahogany neck features a comfortable, slim SlimTaper neck profile.
The fantastic woods and high-quality craftsmanship of the Gibson Bozeman workshop produce a wonderfully warm and exceptionally powerful sound, with singing mids that really shine through. The dreadnought body with rounded shoulders also ensures beautiful projection and a balanced, warm tone with a subtle yet dynamic range of timbres—ideal for any kind of strumming and picking!
A sound sample of this model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
In addition, the guitar comes factory-equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element pickup system, delivering a clear, authentic acoustic sound that shines both live and in the studio.
Truly a great guitar that—typical of Gibson Montana—combines an outstanding balance of sound, playability, and aesthetics.
