Please see all photos and read description for condition. The action is high and will need a neck re-set. This is from the estate Jerry Kennedy the legendary highly influential four-time Grammy-winning American record producer, executive, and session guitarist who helped define the iconic "Nashville Sound". As a core member of Nashville’s elite "A-Team" of studio musicians, his signature guitar and dobro licks anchored some of the most recognizable tracks in American music history. He also served as the longtime head of Mercury Records' country division, launching and shaping the careers of legendary superstars.

Iconic Session Musician: He played the unmistakable opening electric guitar riffs on Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman" and Tammy Wynette's "Stand byYour Man". He also provided the feisty, echoing dobro fills on Jeannie C. Riley's megahit "Harper Valley P.T.A.". [1, 2]

  • A-List Collaborations: Beyond his signature licks, Kennedy tracked sessions for icons like Bob Dylan (featured on the legendary Blonde on Blonde album), Elvis Presley, Ringo Starr, and Kris Kristofferson. [1, 2]
  • Label Executive & Producer: From 1969 to 1984, he led Mercury Records' country music operations in Nashville. He signed and produced Roger Miller—giving him the financial backing to record hits like "King of the Road"—and steered the careers of Reba McEntire, Tom T. Hall, and The Statler Brothers. [1, 2, 3]
  • Jerry Lee Lewis’s Country Pivot: Kennedy was the sonic mastermind behind rock-and-roller Jerry Lee Lewis's highly successful transition into country music, producing almost all of his country records. [1, 2]
  • Industry Honors: He won four Grammy Awards, was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2007 (which named its performance space the "Jerry Kennedy Theater" in his honor), and was celebrated by the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in its "Nashville Cats" series.
  • I will also have a Swagerty Singing Treholipee Ukulele listed as well that comes from his estate that also includes an ASAP award plaque.
