Up for grabs is an uncommon 1999 Smartwood Les Paul Standard.
Fresh setup done by the famous Jim Mozell!
Has some light imperfections from use over the years, but overall quite excellent for its age!

Crafted from responsibly sourced wood and certified by the Rainforest Alliance, this exquisite guitar exemplifies the values of socially conscious musicians. In 1997, Gibson introduced the SmartWood guitar line, featuring instruments made from sustainably harvested "Smart Wood" - a variety of exotic rare woods that preserve the environment. Boasting a stunning top with hues of yellow and irregular strips of light brown, a mahogany neck with the tropical, non-endangered hardwood Chechen, and complemented by Gibson 490R and 498T humbucker pickups and luxurious gold hardware, including a Tune-o-matic bridge.
It’s from a really interesting part of Gibson history. Gibson partnered with the Rainforest Alliance and the Forest Stewardship Council to make guitars from SmartWood. The SmartWood certification required companies to protect local wildlife habitats, minimize damage to forests, plant trees on cleared/degraded land.
Because of the big environmentalist push during that era, t’s a niche part of Gibson history! Maybe something we’d hope to see happen again.
