Rare Gibson Solid Form arch top made by Master Craftsman Bruce Kunkel. I have a letter from Bruce detailing the construction and other info.
Bruce confirms only 125 were made and he worked on every one of them. These are spectacular arch tops that were ahead of their time.
The Gibson Custom Solid-Formed 17" Venetian Cutaway is a unique hollowbody jazz guitar that relies on a specialized wood-bending technique to form an arched top without severing the wood's natural grain. By doing this, Gibson used less wood, reduced weight, and preserved the instrument's structural resonance.
