This 1933 Epiphone Broadway is one of the classic 16" versions with walnut back and sides. The tuners have been replaced with Grover Rotomatics, but the remaining hardware (tailpiece and bridge) appears original to the guitar.
The neck has a full C-shaped carve. It plays with ease, having been refretted with what appears to be medium-jumbo wire fairly recently. These frets show essentially no wear. They are nicely level, allowing for smooth play without buzzing. As one would expect of this guitar it is very punchy with loads of headroom. If you're looking for a great playing guitar with the classic 1930s Epiphone sound you definitely can't go wrong with this one.
The guitar appears to have a fairly thin layer of oversprayed lacquer that doesn't hold back its voice in the slightest. The neck was also rebound, presumably when it was refretted and now features fret nibs as can be found on a typical Gibson guitar. The fretboard was replaced in the 1970s by reknown London based luthier Sam Li.
