Tiptop Audio SD808 Snare Drum Voice — Gently Used | TR-808 Analog Circuit | Euro
The Tiptop Audio SD808 is the actual TR-808 analog snare circuit rebuilt for modular format. Not samples. Not modeling. Gently used, excellent condition, fully functional.
What it is:
The SD808 is the TR-808's analog snare drum circuit adapted for Eurorack, designed to sound like a fresh-out-of-the-box 1980s TR-808 snare. The sound is made with three analog generators mixed together: two oscillating sine waves and a noise source.
The noise source is based on a later TR-808 circuit revision, producing a snare hit that is slightly darker, with more body and more realistic character than earlier versions.
Features:
- TR-808 original analog snare circuit in Eurorack format
- Tone control varies pitch and timbre of the dual sine wave oscillators
- Snappy control adds white noise — simulates the snare tension wires
- Accent control with Accent In CV input for dynamic velocity response
- Gate In with dual pulse-shaper circuit — works reliably with any trigger, gate, or clock source
- SD Out — high-powered gain stage up to 20Vpp for harmonic distortion and saturation
- MIXZ MixBus compatible via Eurorack power ribbon
- 4HP / Eurorack format — fits anywhere
Condition: Gently used. Excellent cosmetic and functional condition. No rack rash.
Why this matters: Every digital 808 snare you've ever heard in a sample pack was originally recorded from a circuit like this one. Running it live in your modular — with CV accent, gate sequencing, and the ability to push it into distortion — is a completely different experience.
