Although Gordy's Music specializes in vintage guitar and amplifier gear, I have sold hundreds of accordions and vintage synthesizers over the past 4 decades. I was raised on the accordion and classically trained for 10 years at the age of 5 by my late Father Ben Lupo.  My Dad was a professional accordion-keyboard player for 73 years from the age of 13 and I have on my wall here at the shop here his 70-year member plaque from the Detroit Local 5 Federation of Musicians Union as well as several plaque trophies earned from the 3 all accordion bands he led in competitions back then that I participated in as a kid. I miss my father and he taught me all about the accordion and being a professional musician. Raised on spaghetti and the accordion.

Here we have a very fine Italian made 120 bass Lira by International accordion. It was the last accordion used by a professional here in Michigan before he retired.

Well stored and cared for all these 60 some years, this accordion has 6 treble shifts-registers and 1 bass shifts. I tested all the shifts and all the notes on both sides treble and bass and everything works as it should. It has a superb full sound and can get quite loud.

Cosmetically the instrument has the look of being a newer instrument. There is light natural aging overall with a very minor surface blemishes throughout the finish here and there. There is some wear to the protective pad on the back.

The leather straps are very nice newer looking thick and comfortable. The bellows are nice and tight and in great shape with no leaks.

The hard case is in very good fully functional condition with no odors.

All tested and ready to play and enjoy! Nice and loud with that old time sound and TONE!

We've supplied gear for movies including "Bill & Ted Face The Music" with Keanu Reeves. We've got decades of celebrity customers, including recent visits from Beck, Eric Johnson, and we just sold Billy Joel's bassist an SG he is in love with. Just last month 2-9-2024, Andre 3000 and his group stopped in to browse as they were playing Masonic Temple that night and right after that 2-12-2024 we sold an old oil can Morley Wah Vibrato pedal to Credence Clearwater Revival's thee John Fogerty!

We are having and have had a lot of fun here at Gordy's Music! I was just remembering about 35 years ago a tour bus pulled up to our little shop, and who rolls right in and hangs out for an hour? Lenny Kravitz and his entire group, right about the same time I was selling guitars and chauffeuring around Dee Dee Ramone, who had an apartment a block down from my house.

Universal accordions are another brand of accordions manufactured in Castelfidardo, Italy. There are three different Universal accordion companies but the first one was based in Italy. There were also two based in the US.
The company produced high quality accordions loved by many accordionists in Italy. Universal accordions were mass produced and which made it easy for accordionists to find this brand.
Universal accordions are known not only for the quality, but also for the beautiful sound it produces.
