Up for grabs is the ultimate 80s USA-made tone monster and a real head-turner. This 1987 Hamer is the definition of a premium "Player’s Grade" instrument. Built during Hamer's golden era with top-tier materials, professionally maintained to be an absolute weapon on stage and in the studio.
A rare and sought after guitar these days - especially in Europe.
The Tone & Specs:
Unlike the vast majority of 80s shredders that rely on cheap bolt-on necks, this Hamer features a premium set-neck construction. This is incredibly rare for high-performance guitars of this style and stands as a true testament to Hamer's legendary, boutique-level build quality and attention to detail.
Crafted from premium, high-quality Honduras Mahogany, this set-neck design ensures massive acoustic resonance, incredible sustain, and seamless upper-fret access. Combined with a 25.5" Strat scale length, it sounds like a "Les Paul on speed." You get that classic, thick Gibson midrange growl paired with the unmistakable snap and note definition of a Fender. It’s an incredibly fast-playing, ultra-responsive instrument.
Condition, Refinish & Repairs:
- The Finish: The guitar has been professionally refinished in Bubblegum Pink color. The finish was carefully applied to preserve the original 1987 serial number (717806) on the back of the headstock (with the original pink color around it). Only a few impressions and dings in the lacquer here and there (mostly along the fretboard edges).
- Headstock Repair: It has a headstock repair executed by a professional luthier. It was reinforced with longitudinal splines, making the joint structurally superior and far more stable than the original factory wood. It is 100% rock-solid and ready for heavy touring.
- Frets: It has been refretted with Dunlop 6100 Jumbo frets offering effortless bends and lightning-fast playability.
- Fretboard: There are some minor cosmetic imperfections on the fretboard from years of honest use, but it is 100% structurally sound, perfectly smooth under the fingers, and fully functional.
Originality & Hardware:
Aside from the pro refinish and refret, everything else on this guitar is completely original.
- Original pickups, tuners, knobs wiring and factory pots.
- Original Floyd Rose tremolo system (the high-end OFR, not the Schaller licensed version), which stays in perfect tune no matter how hard you use it.
